Hi Constance, I built it into CPN here. I followed the guidelines of how our inpatient EMR analyst had built there. I made it a computed item within their admission flowsheet. We would like the same information! Every other system/EMR uses Encounter numbers here as well. We have had issues in the past where a patient record didn’t archive out for some reason, then the patient comes back in the same year for a second pregnancy birth, the nurse pulls up their old record and documents the new pregnancy with the old one. The data becomes jumbled/merged between the two without any way to separate the two cases. Is there a specific reason why Encounter numbers are not used?
